Sunday 19th June 2016

Woe! The visits to my blog have gone a little crazy!! I was hoping to reach 4,000 views by the end of June but look what happened in the past few hours!!  Views and visitors 19 June

The numbers are increasing hour by hour, which is really exciting to me, because the more people read about this, the more awareness there is for The Hearing Fund UK.

The Visitors have gone up dramatically too. The Visitors number represents 2,018 different people who have clicked on this WordPress link!  Hello to anyone who is new to these pages!! I think there may be quite a few from the poster leaflets we gave out at Tesco Extra on Friday, so thank you for coming to take a look.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

Another exciting thing I noticed is that in the past 24 hours, I have had visits from El Salvador, Colombia and Somalia for the first time!  Greetings from a Yorkshire town in England called Doncaster!! 🙂  Please look us up on Google Maps… it’s a great place to live!

Countries who have visited so far:

I love the fact that WordPress show how many people have viewed  daily, and show a running total….

Perhaps I should do a Top 10 on a Sunday night, with New Entries!!! haha 😀

As I sit and prepare the week ahead, I am excited that this coming Friday we have another Bag Pack at Morrison’s Superstore in Balby, Doncaster.  The Community Fundraiser who represents the Store, Martine, is an absolute treasure. If we can manage to raise another £400 there, we will be flying past the £3,500 target!! 😀 😀

Next weekend I will also have the pleasure of seeing the gorgeous Merrill Osmond with friends at Leeds, so along with all the swimming and fundraising, it’s going to be a hectic week ahead.

Finally, in the pipeline are a few Swim a Mile with Me group swims coming up too. If you are interested in swimming with me, whether it be here, or anywhere else, I do have an official sponsor form.  Please just let me know if you would like to join in. It would be great to see you!

Yes!!!!! Thank you to every single person who has been so generous in donating money to the Hearing Fund UK.  I set a mini target to reach the £1,500 mark by this weekend so I could share that with Merrill and Justin tomorrow, and I just went over that amount tonight!!! (Thank you Shaun!)

I have had a great day today in that I swam my 166th mile at lunch time and this means I have reached exactly 2/3rds of the way. This equates to 10,564 lengths of the pool.  It means I have 5,436 lengths to go (84.94 miles). I can manage this if I keep swimming 5 miles a week. I’m still very much on target. 🙂

12969283_10154833657128228_1183806780_nI also received my first two t-shirts which were kindly funded by DCLT to promote what I’m doing. Photos to be shared tomorrow. (They are amazing quality) In the meantime I simply must mention the company who printed them. It’s the HoodieHut in Bower’s Fold, Doncaster, also known as Torso. 12969422_10154833657293228_37014807_nTheir efficient and friendly service was to be commended and I especially want to mention Naomi, who served me today. I’m sure Naomi won’t mind me mentioning that she was sure she had seen my story on either Look North news or Calendar recently!  If anyone else has seen this on our local news, I’d love to know because I missed it. It would also help Naomi know that she’s not been dreaming!! 😀

Seriously, if anyone needs any t-shirts printing in Doncaster, I can highly recommend this company.

Whilst I have had these t-shirts made to wear when we do our store ‘bag pack’ to raise more funds, I have got some more exciting ideas to raise money with them! I will be able to tell you more after talking to Merrill and Justin 🙂

I hope you will come back to see what happens next.

Radio Sheffield

Today I’ve had a radio interview confirmed with BBC Radio Sheffield for next week with Rony Robinson.  I will be talking to him on his show on Monday 11th April during the ‘My Life so Far’ slot. It starts at 12.10pm and ends at about 12.30pm. It can be found afterwards on IPlayer for 30 days afterwards.

I have also been invited to chat with Andrew Isaacs at Sine FM, a community radio station in Doncaster, next Wednesday 13th April at 10:00am. On their website, his programme is described as:

Sine FM

‘A weekly display of admiration for the town and people of Doncaster with special guests and features aimed to
celebrate all things Donny.’

It’s a show which lasts for an hour and usually has more than one guest appearing.  The Podcast for the show can be downloaded afterwards but is only available for 7 days.

I had another lovely note from Justin Osmond this afternoon.  They are on their way over here for the ‘Serenity Weekend’ this weekend, and I’m really looking forward to seeing Justin, Merrill and Kristi on Saturday 🙂

Come back tomorrow and I’ll be sharing some exciting information about this year’s Annual Hearing Fund Gala coming up in August!
